Nebra Sky

Inspired by the Nebra Sky Disc 1800 – 1600 BC

Nebra Sky Disc

It is made of bronze
decorated like a cake
in aquamarine and gold

a crescent greets a sphere
and luminescent baubles
float above the ways

the edge is forked
and crumbly
with a nibble top left

a side sweep of gold
almost meets another
neath the end curve

it is wonderful
a vision of desire
and of eternity

Angela Massucco works as an attachment based couples and individual psychotherapist in Cambridge. Her background is as a Costume Designer in theatre and television. She is a member of The Poetry Society Cambridge Stanza and her poems are about relationship and nature.
